Well there goes my attempt at making a flappy bird type game. It’s very simple on the surface but I did learn a few things and reinforced my understanding in a few other things. I efficiently managed over 400 sound clips without messing with memory by only preloading the most used sound clips. I implemented the UI using mostly picture buttons because pictures are a universal language and they just look nicer and more playful than text. I learned a bit more about physics timestepping  and framerate after seeing that the game was slow motion on the ipad. I even learned about a difference between impulse forces and regular forces in the context of framerate although i still don’t fully understand it. I did make some great functionality improvements to my leaderboard code and i implemented achievements successfully for the first time. All in all I learned a lot, don’t know if I’ll make any money… but I learned a lot.

Zombie Crisp took me almost 2 fuckin years to release on iphones, 1.5 years for android… I went through so much shit to finish this game that words cannot adequately describe the emotional turmoil i went through. You gotta remember, I’ve been a salaried employee the entire time I was working on this game! There was no guarantee this game was even gonna go viral but by god I put in the time and effort to learn how to make apps right and get this shit done! Developing Zombie Crisp taught me VOLUMES about Unity,Apps,Marketing,Art,Sound,Music, Publishing, Patience, Discipline, ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC. I had to redo parts of the game that were done badly after I learned about my mistakes, I had the most elusive fuckin bugs ever, I had bugs that weren’t even my fault!!! My game was delayed on the iphone by 4 MONTHS because of a crappy plugin provider messing up my shit… it all worked out in the end i guess, I didn’t make much money but the lessons will last a lifetime. 2014 and 2015 were the most intense years of my life, I never put so much pure effort into a single project ever! I don’t know if I’ll ever face such overwhelming challenges again but I can say for a fact, I am a changed man now, hardened by my experiences developing this product, developing ways to cope with the doubt and desperation when seemingly overwhelming obstacles throw themselves in my way over and over and over again! I’m not even joking, some shit went wrong so many times it’s fuckin insane… it’s like the fuckin universe knew what i was up to and was fuckin with me to make sure the probabilities of success stay realistically low, I’m convinced that was it. BUT… I fuckin did it, I fucking made it and although I’m not free yet, I am incapable of quitting, I’ve gone too far to quit now, it would be devastating to quit. I continue on my unique path through life, a path not yet walked by other men, the unknown future gives me hope in these troubled times.

In my opinion this is a fuckin hilarious and clever little quiz game. I don’t care if this game never goes viral and I will maintain that the idea for this game was a stroke of genius! lol I mean come on! I remembered the website where someone put up hundreds of pics of kim jong il looking at shit and it just occured to me out of the blue to make it into a game, haha its fuckin hilarious cause its kim jong il!

A random image is shown and 4 silly choices for the hidden object. I literally had a text file open and wrote down the majority of choices manually! that’s over 1000 different objects that I manually put and I put in extra effort to avoid repetition of choices! That shit took FOREVERRRRR! AND I also had to manually move the black boxes around for each individual image to make sure the object is properly hidden but without hiding other stuff in the scene, I think it took over 100 hours to finish everything, compressed into several sleepless nights just grinding away image after image… fukin hell… lol well I’m still proud of this game, I bet it’d go viral if I suddenly died tragically haha.
